Travis Perkins Group has formed a strategic alliance with Toriga Energy to deliver a comprehensive Green Deal proposition for consumers and the trade. The alliance enables the two companies to provide an integrated Green Deal proposition from specification through to finance, assessment and installation – in effect an end-to-end Green Deal solution.

Under the deal, 14m homes could be fitted with insulation and other energy-saving measures, according to government estimates. Households will be offered a £150 cash incentive to insulate their homes from next year, under plans unveiled by the government on Wednesday. Within two years, households taking up the offer should be saving money on their energy bills, as new government policies come into force, Chris Huhne pledged. By 2020, according to government estimates, the average household should pay £94 a year less for energy than they would without the policies

The Department for Energy and Climate Change have announced a consultation on the level of Feed in Tariff for Solar PV installations. The contents of the consultation document have thrown the Solar PV industry into a frenzy as the tariff is cut from 43.5p to 21p, and the deadline for getting installs completed at the current rate has been brought forward to the middle of December from March.
