Travis Perkins goes solar at Warrington distribution centre

Travis Perkins has collaborated with Lancashire-based installer, Solarlec renewable energy solutions, to install a 157.5kW rooftop solar array on its regional distribution centre in Warrington.

630 Enhance Photovoltaic modules were supplied for the installation and SOLFEX provided Solarlec with everything they needed to complete project.

The Enhance Photovoltaic modules were selected due to their high efficiency, excellent performance in typical UK weather and longevity of the modules.

Within the first year, Travis Perkins could save as much as £10,000 in energy costs whilst collecting almost £12,000 in Feed-in Tariff payments. Furthermore, the system is expected to save 1.5 million kg of carbon dioxide over the next 25 years.

“As a group we pay large carbon levies so the choice of solar will reduce our total energy costs and therefore reduce our carbon emissions," said Haydn Young, group energy manager at Travis Perkins.
