Plumbing Trade Supplies (PTS) is celebrating the completion of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village in Glasgow after successfully supplying a range of essential heating and plumbing products to the City Legacy consortium over a two year period.
The Athletes’ Village will provide beds for 6,500 athletes and officials during the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. The project was completed by the City Legacy consortium, which is made up of developers and contractors CCG, Cruden, Mactaggart & Mickel, and W H Malcolm. Each of whom have an unparalleled local track record of residential development and job creation.
After the Games, it will transform into a lively residential community with housing, amenities and public spaces, some on a riverside setting and offering a wonderful environment for a new family focused community.
In addition to providing standard heating supplies, PTS was instrumental in providing Solar PV panels and radiators to meet the heating and efficiency targets of the project. Regional PTS branches worked continuously to ensure stock holding could meet demand whilst evolving its portfolio to satisfy changing requirements.
Kenneth Barnstaple, PTS Senior Account Manager Scotland West, said: “It’s been fantastic to work with City Legacy over the past two years to supply such a large and prestigious project. We supplied around two thirds of the Solar PV and heating packages to the Athletes’ Village which is an indicator of our capabilities, and the wide range of products that we can offer installers in Scotland.”
