Internal Insulation
Pitched roofs can be insulated to create either warm or cold roof spaces, and walls can be made energy efficient too.
Cold Roof - This is when you insulate the floor of the loft space. This is the lowest cost option for insulating a roof and uses either loft roll or insulated boards. High levels of thermal insulation can be achieved, current recommended depth is 270mm of loft roll. Mineral wool insulation rolls are lightweight, flexible, resilient and non-combustible. We are now able to offer a carbon zero loft roll from Knauf insulation.
Warm Roof - Insulation is placed in the plane of the roof pitch to create a warm roof space. This allows the attic to be utilised as extra living space enhancing the value and desirability of the dwelling without significantly altering the building.
Internal Wall Insulation - To improve the thermal performance of a house it may be necessary to install internal wall insulation, particularly in solid wall construction buildings. There are a number of internal wall systems available from the major insulation manufacturers, such as Celotex, distributed by the Travis Perkins Group companies
The PUR/ PIR range is specifically designed to provide simple solutions for overcoming localised thermal bridges and helps the overall energy efficiency of dwellings by limiting the amount of heat loss across the envelope of the building.
