TopWorcester’s Greenskies solar water heating panels use the power in both direct and diffused sunlight, converting the energy into heat, to produce hot water for the home.
The Greenskies FKT-1W solar panels are our high performance solar panels. They are designed to fit on the roof widthways, also known as ‘landscape’.
When having solar panels installed, your existing cylinder is exchanged for a solar compatible one with two heat exchanger coils one from your boiler and a second from the solar panels.
A simple control (the TDS10) is used with Greenskies solar water heating. This control allows you to monitor the solar panel system and to select the temperature required at the hot water cylinder.
A well sized solar water heating system could provide up to 60% of your annual hot water requirements.
The Greenskies solar panels are designed to go with existing heating systems that use a cylinder to store hot water.
Grants and planning permission
The UK Government’s RHI scheme makes solar water heating grants available for homeowners from 1st August 2011 to 31st March 2012 (£15 million available on a first come, first serve basis).
Planning permission has also eased for solar panels.
