Description
Top'Ecoplay greywater system recycles bath and shower water, which makes up around 33% of all the water used around the home and recycles it for toilet flushing, which normally accounts for up to 30% of water. This is proving a very effective and sustainable way of reducing water and drainage bills by a third, as well as meeting the Code for Sustainable Homes requirements.
Water from the bath and shower is collected in a tank, where a skimmer removes light surface materials, whilst heavier waste particles sink and are flushed away with the waste. The remaining clean water is then drawn from the middle of the tank and transferred via gravity to a storage vessel, where it can be used for flushing the toilet.
Each unit can store 100 litres of water, which is enough for approximately 16 flushes of the toilet. The system flushes automatically every 24 hours to keep the water young and fresh, unlike other systems it is not reliant on complex filtration processes which often require constant maintenance. Ecoplay requires only an annual replenishment of a environmentally friendly dosing disinfectant.'
