- Technology: Air Source Heat Pump
- Product: Daikin Altherma Low Temperature Split Heat Pump, Daikin Altherma Low Temperature Monobloc Heat Pump
Objective: Fully designed optimised heating system with technical on-site support for a large residential development of 43 new homes in a rural, off-gas village in Northamptonshire.
Project: We provided expertise on products and system design as well as offering technical support on-site.
Challenges: Our initial assessment highlighted that oil and LPG options would not meet SAP requirements. Any external units needed to be located away from the properties for aesthetic reasons, whilst still needing to maintain strong heat input levels.
Solutions: Our design team specified a split heat pump which mostly cost effectively met our customer’s requirements. Our impartial assessment of electric heating versus air source heat pumps highlighted that heat pumps were right for this build: better efficiency, lower running costs, a longer working life and would integrate better with their chosen heating system.
Conclusion: We provided a comprehensive solution which included the design, estimating and the heating materials. Our insurance backed designs gave confidence to all parties that the air source heat pump package was not only the right technical solution for this project but that the performance in use by homeowners would meet their requirements.
Testimonial: “I was very pleased with the SBS design capability and how they helped us meet our heating design and installation requirements. The design saved us time, and was carried out in timely and efficient manner, and they specified and supplied the complete schedule of products.” Tim Carpenter, Managing Director, Mears New Homes
