Dunaverty Hall, Scotland
- Building Type: Commercial, New Build
- Technology Used: Ground Source Heat Pumps, Underfloor Heating
- Client: RHIS Scotland
Project background: To design and supply a GSHP and UFH solution for a large community village hall complex in Argyll & Bute. In addition to the main hall, the building included a post office, badminton court, changing rooms with showers, commercial kitchen and meeting rooms.
Challenges: The UFH changed a number of times due to the building layouts and usage patterns being amended. As a result, the D&E team had to alter the controls strategy to suit. Also, the site was challenged in terms of the boreholes for the GSHP achieving the necessary extraction required for the heat demand of the building.
Design & Estimating Added Value: We specified a commercial GSHP with five 135m deep boreholes to achieve the extraction required for the heat demand of the building.
Our insurance backed designs gave confidence to all parties that the GSHP package was not only the right technical solution for this project but that the performance in use by homeowners would meet their requirements.
Outcome: A comprehensive solution was provided which included the design, estimation and the heating materials.
Testimonial: “SBS have become a core part of our heating business, integrating various parts of the low energy heating system to work as one. With the support of PTS, our rural project was delivered within the window we required ensuring a smooth professional install.” Barry Sharp, Director, RHIS
